July on the Lake: Fireworks, Friday Music & a New Lakefront Member on the Canandaigua Lake Wine Trail
July is peak summer on the Canandaigua Lake Wine Trail — long evenings, open patios, and a calendar that finally slows down enough to enjoy. This year there's a brand-new reason to celebrate: we're welcoming Hotel Canandaigua! Here's how to spend the month.
4th of July
Saturday, July 4 is the trail's big opening note. Kick things off at Hotel Canandaigua's BBQ Bash (6 PM) — a lakefront Fourth of July with food, drinks, and the water right there beside you. Earlier in the day, head south to Naples for Inspire Moore's free 19th Annual B4 Anniversary (11 AM–4 PM), a full afternoon marking nineteen years of the winery. Round it out with Saturday afternoon live music at Heron Hill's Canandaigua tasting room (3–7 PM).
On Main Street
Acquilano Wine Cellars leans into their craft this month. Winemakers Night (Thursday, July 16, 5–9 PM) is a chance to talk shop with pro, home, and aspiring winemakers alike, and weekly Game Nights keep Thursdays easy. Mark July 25 for National Wine & Cheese Day — a pairing worth the whole afternoon.
Make a day of July 25
This is the Saturday to circle. Start with the Inspire Moore Wine Run 5K (9 AM, $25–50) — a run you'll actually want to wake up for. Flow into Hikyoga among the vines at Randall-Standish (10:30 AM), then toast the finish line at Acquilano's Wine & Cheese Day. One lake, one big day.
More Along the Trail
Arbor Hill, Hometown Wine Company, and Song Hill are also open all month for an unhurried tasting and a view. However you map it out, July is the month to make the drive. Designate a driver or book a tour, check hours before you go, and give yourself permission to slow down.
See you on the lake.
