June: How to Spend a Slow Saturday on the Canandaigua Lake Wine Trail
June might be the best-kept secret on the Canandaigua Lake Wine Trail. The vines are green, the patios are open, and the whole month leans into the things we love most: making something with your hands, lingering over a good glass, and letting a Saturday unfold without a plan. Here's how to spend yours.
Start with Something Made by Hand
Kick off the month on Thursday, June 4 at 20 Deep Winery, where Bestie Bouquet: Wine & Design (6–8 PM) pairs a floral-arranging session with a glass in hand. Grab a friend, build something beautiful, and sip while you create — it's the kind of low-key, hands-on evening that's a lot more fun than it sounds.
Then, on Saturday, June 6, head south to Naples for Watkinstown Day (11 AM–4 PM). It's a celebration of the town's roots on the Old Town Square, with wine, food, live music, and activities for the whole crew. Bring a chair and stay a while. Be sure to stop in trail member locations Hometown Wine Company, Inspire Moore Winery, and Hazlitt Red Cat Cellars.
Make Saturdays Your Ritual
The best part of June is that two of our favorite weekend traditions run all month long.
At Acquilano Wine Cellars, Barrel & Tank Samples pour every Saturday (10 AM–10 PM). It’s a rare chance to taste the 2025 vintage straight from barrel and tank before it's ever bottled, and to talk shop with the people who made it. Down at the lake, Heron Hill's Canandaigua tasting room brings live music to the deck every Saturday afternoon (3–7 PM), with vineyard views to match.
Want to earn your wine first? Randall-Standish Vineyards hosts Hikyoga, a monthly hike-and-yoga flow right among the vines. The next session is Saturday, June 27 at 10:30 AM — a calm, scenic way to start the day before the tasting rooms fill up.
Make a Day of June 27
It's the Saturday to circle. Flow through Hikyoga at Randall-Standish in the morning, swing by Acquilano Wine Callars for barrel samples in the afternoon, and close out with live music at Heron Hill’s Canandaigua Tasting Room as the sun shines over the lake. One lake, one perfect day, many different ways to enjoy it.
Don't Forget Dad
Sunday, June 21 is Father's Day, and the trail has you covered. 20 Deep Winery throws its annual backyard-style Father's Day BBQ (11 AM–7 PM). Expect food, wine, and a relaxed afternoon outside. Prefer something closer to the lake? Acquilano Wine Cellars is open 11 AM–6 PM in Canandaigua to toast Dad with a flight and a view. Either way, skip the tie.
Plan Your June
Five wineries, over thirty miles, and one beautiful lake. June is the month to start working your way down the trail. Designate a driver or book a tour, double-check hours before you head out, and give yourself permission to slow down. See you on the trail.
